In an interview with Esquire he revealed that he swallows dry yeast before he drinks and that this stops him getting drunk.
He says the trick is to take one teaspoon of yeast per drink before starting drinking. He added that you can make it more palatable by stirring it into yoghurt.
And, he also explained that it can easily be purchased in grocery stores.
Mr Koch says active dry yeast contains an enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenases which breaks down alcohol. He says it transforms the alcohol molecules into carbon, hydrogen and oxygen - this is also what happens when the liver breaks down alcohol.
As a result, swallowing yeast before drinking means alcohol is broken down before it reaches the brain and causes drunkenness.
However, Mr Koch warns that it does not completely eliminate the effects of alcohol – it just reduces them.
