Central African Rebels demanding 6 Billion FCFA to release Hostages!!!

The kidnappers have been located in Central African Republic, according to sources from the Cameroon government.

The government has already started negotiations with them. This news will surely relief the families of the victims based in Lagdo who were still without any news concerning their close ones kidnapped on the Garoua-Boulai road by some armed men from Central African Republic. According to the Cameroon government, the government started on the night of Monday, the negotiations with the Central African rebel group that kidnapped the elites of Lagdo who were going to visit the Assistant Divisional Officer in Bertoua.

“The group responded and we sent our emissaries to negotiate with them. They are asking for a ransom”,

according to the source, and not wanting to give more precisions on the terms of the negotiations.

Some other sources closer to Mama Abakai and also the Cameroonian Closers say that the rebels are asking a sum of 6 billion FCFA for the release of the hostages.

“No matter the time, we are still negotiating with tact and diplomacy, and we are sure that soon the hostages will be freed”,

Concluded another source from the East Region.

It is almost a feast in Lagdo. The populations are very happy about the negotiations going on.

“We are very happy to know that the hostages are save and will be with us soon.”

says Michel, a relative to the mayor Mama Abakai. Mama Abakai and the other hostages might be released, if everything goes well between the Cameroon Government and the rebels.
