THE FIRST CAMEROON GAY COUPLE TO TIE THE KNOT

Marriage is for all. Names and identity withheld for obvious reasons. Somewhere in the world, two young Cameroonians made history by being the first Cameroonian gay couple to marry

I’m ecstatic to see the recent progress made in some countries regarding gay marriage. Some say that it is not ‘marriage’, that only a man and a woman can be married. Well, I make no distinction between marriage and civil partnerships, to me the name is not important. What matters is the progress towards equal rights and acceptance and tolerance.

If you are not in support of gay marriage then don't marry a gay
Heterosexual couples are allowed to get married regardless of whether they can, or want to, have children. There were a lot of atrocious practices that were longstanding human traditions before we outlawed them. Legalizing gay marriages won’t have any effect on religious institutions or the legal status of bestiality. There’s no legal precedent to suggest that it will. Numerous studies from around the world show that same-sex couples raise more emotionally well-adjusted children than their straight counterparts.

I firmly believe that we are all equal, and that everyone should be treated the same. Gay marriage is an acknowledgement of equality. Two people should be able to formalize their relationship, regardless of whether they are both men, both women, or one of each. Love is something to be celebrated; it enriches and enhances our lives. If two people wish to stand up in front of witnesses and have that love recognized by the law, then why should they not do so?

There is too much cruelty in the world, so love should be admired and encouraged. At a time when divorce rates are high, it is something to be admired when any couple can maintain an enduring relationship. Many gay couples have been together for years, so why should they not have that relationship officially recognized if they so wish? Supporting gay marriage is to me a sign of true acceptance of people in all their varieties.

I can't wait for the reactions of the righteous and their often irrational reasons against gays and gay marriage. I'll save them some time by stating the obvious shall I? Gay marriage harms the institution of traditional marriage. Seriuously? then name one demonstrable, tangible effect that same-sex marriages have on the functioning of individual heterosexual marriages.

The ability of same-sex couples to get married doesn’t alter a single aspect of heterosexual marriagesdirectly or indirectly. The legal rights and benefits of heterosexual couples are completely unaffected by the existence of gay marriage. It’s not as if straight couples suddenly start loving each other less or start treating their kids worse once gay people start getting married.

Have marriage rates been in decline since states started legalising gay marriage? Well, sure, but marriage rates have been declining steadily since the 1970s. Marriage has always been between a man and a woman. I hear you mumbling so legalizing gay marriage would be changing thousands of years of tradition. If there's one thing I respect humans for is their ability to forget to soon A lot of things were “always that way” before they were changed. When did women have the right to vote? Why are long-standing traditions reasons to prohibit gay marriage?

If I'm having sex now it is strictly for pleasure so please save me the the purpose of marriage is to procreate, and same-sex couples can’t have children. Why don't we stop infertile Men and women from getting married? For your information the percentage of married couples with children has been declining over the last 25 years, but couples who don’t want kids can still get married.

Let me make myself clear I’m arguing for one law, and one law only Legal marriage rights for same-sex couples. Anything else is a different policy argument altogether. Overturning bans on gay marriage has no legal effect on incestuous, or beastiality. Those are separate areas of law, and they won’t be affected by the existence of marriage rights for gay couples.

If you’re saying that allowing gay marriage will set a legal precedent for legalizing other types of relationships, you need to have some sort of evidence as to why that might happen. And saying that you, personally, think that homosexuality is in the same category as incest isn’t evidence. and frankly sick Also, sheeps, donkeys, horses, dogs etc can’t physically sign contracts, so they’ll never be able to get married anyway. Live and lets live. Love for and of humanity is my mantra
