This was at the end of an extraordinary general assembly meeting on Saturday, July 12, 2014.
The association of amateur football clubs, ACFAC, met in an
extraordinary general assembly on Saturday July 12 in Yaounde to adopt a
common stance in the present cacophony prevailing in football in
Cameroon. The association probably benefiting from the fact that the
president of the Republic ordered an inquiry into the debacle of the
Lions to address a memorandum to the Head of State.
In the memorandum, the amateur clubs called for the reintegration of
some clubs which were excluded in the Regional championships in the
Littoral and Far North.
This reintegration they said should be accompanied by the
rehabilitation of suspended officials as their suspension resulted from
electoral disputes.
The association also called for the compensation of clubs following
the suspension of the competitions by FECAFOOT during the World Cup
period. They are also asking for a share in the fall-outs of Cameroon’s
participation at the 2014 World cup in Brazil. Concerning the upcoming
elections in the federations, the amateur clubs called for the exclusion
from the process of clubs created after June 13th, 2013.
They equally called or the effective launching of competitions in
youth and feminine football as well as futsal and beach soccer. For
reasons of clarity, the clubs also called for the publication of the
revised statutes of Fecafoot which was adopted by FIFA since March 21st, 2014.
The paradox is why the amateur clubs had to submit their complain but
to the President of the Republic when there is a Normalization
Committee specially put in place to rectify the woes of Cameroon’s
football.
